Grid Code Technical Committee Composition
As the System Operator, we serve as the secretariat of the Grid Code, overseeing a multitude of functions that ensure the cohesion, effectiveness, and transparency of this pivotal regulatory document.
At the core of our responsibilities is the coordination of activities pertaining to the Grid Code Technical Committee (GCTC) and its associated sub-committees. This collaborative effort brings together experts, stakeholders, and industry leaders to deliberate upon and shape the rules that govern the interactions within the power system.
Key Functionalities:
- Coordination of GCTC Activities: We act as the nexus, facilitating communication and collaboration among diverse professionals who contribute to the evolution of the Grid Code.
- Register of Grid Code Participants: Our role includes maintaining a comprehensive register of Grid Code Participants, documenting entities that are actively engaged in adhering to and influencing the code's guidelines.
- Submission of Amendments and Exemptions: We take the lead in reviewing proposed amendments and exemptions to the Grid Code. Following thorough evaluation by the GCTC, we present these recommendations to the Energy Regulations Board (ERB) for approval, ensuring a well-informed decision-making process.
- Documentation Management and Dissemination: The Grid Code is a living document, subject to revisions and updates. We meticulously manage its documentation and are committed to transparently disseminating information to all relevant parties, guaranteeing that participants are informed and aligned with the latest developments.
